The long awaited wine club intro

For months, my dear friend Becca and I have been talking about putting together a monthly wine club (think book club without the annoying homework! sorry book clubbers) for our girlfriends. With Becca's big case finally over, and spring just around the corner, we figured now is as good of time as any to put this great idea into motion.

That being said, we'd like to welcome you to our fabulous wine club--the Vines that Bind (cheesy, but cute!). The idea here is simple: every first Monday of the Month (i.e. April 6, May 4, June 1, etc.), we get together at a member's house (or a wine bar, if folks are up for it) for a 2 hour long meeting, during which we taste wines, nibble on cheese and other delectables, listen to fun music, and catch up with one another/make new friends. Everyone brings a bottle of wine and something to nibble on that is consistent with that month's theme. The hostess selects the theme. So for example, the theme could be "your favorite wine" or "a wine that brings back memories" or "hot wines (i.e. high in alcohol)" or "wines with a cute label", etc. (think fun, not stuffy). Everyone introduces the wine she brought and explains why she selected it. And then, we drink! :)

You don't have to be a wine someilier to enjoy or be a part of wine club. It's more about hanging out and having fun with the girls than it is about wine. But, that doesn't mean we can't have a little instruction about wine each week (like going over wine lingo, how to "properly taste" etc.). It can be as structured or non-sructured as we want it to be, or as our monthly hostess plans it to be. It's up to each of us to make this club ours...

As far as membership goes, it's pretty easy: you just have to like wine, hanging out with your girlfriends, and be open to hosting a meeting at some point. Vines that Bind is certainly not exclusive and we'd be thrilled to have as many ladies attend as are interested--the more the merrier! :) Please feel free to invite friends to join the email/evite list!

Becca will start us off and host the first monthly meeting of Vines that Bind...be on the lookout for the evite! I hope to see many of you there and of course bring your girlfriends!
